Zones
Zones refer to specific areas or regions within a map that are defined for different purposes or characteristics. A zone can be thought of as a designated space with a specific set of attributes or properties assigned to it.
Robots can detect and respond to zone boundaries or triggers. Depending on the zone type, the robot may adjust its behavior, issue warnings, change speed, or avoid restricted areas.
They enhance safety by preventing the robot from entering restricted or potentially hazardous areas. It also help optimize robot workflows by specifying where tasks should be executed.
In the following sections, we will more systematically understand the following concepts:
📄️ Dashboard
The Zones Dashboard is designed with a user-friendly interface to provide convenient access to map visualization and zone management. It consists of two main columns that serve distinct purposes:
📄️ Types of Zone
It's important to note that these zone types are only applicable during the robot's automatic operation, such as when it is following a mission or a quick goal. In manual mode, the robot can freely traverse through any zone without the specific behaviors or restrictions associated with these zones.
📄️ Create Zone
- From the Zones dashboard, click on the "Create New Zone" button present top right side.
📄️ Activate/Deactivate Zone
Once the zone is deactivated, its associated behavior or functionality will no longer be applied. The robot will not consider the zone's rules or restrictions when performing its tasks or navigating the environment.
📄️ Delete Zone
Please note that Deleting a zone is a permanent action, and once deleted, it cannot be undone.
